I sent a message to my opponent through the forum conversation thing yesterday, but I didn't hear from him yet.

Which brings me to my question: What if a match fails to take place, do both players get the penalty?
If only one player loses points, how do you decide which one?

Let's look at an edge case example here:
Player A asks his opponent Player B when he would like to play.
He gets no response for the whole week.
On the last remaining day, X hours before the deadline, Player B suddenly writes "yeah, i'm available now!", but Player A doesn't see the message in time.
Afterwards, both players claim the other didn't show.
Who gets the penalty? And is it dependant on X?

Basically I look at who made the appropriate effort. In this example you gave, player A did what they were suppose to in contacting the other player early in the week. Waiting until the final day to try and get things done when you were contacted earlier is not a valid attempt. So player B would most likely get the penalty.

All this being said basically I have to play as a judge and determine the fairest solution. Hopefully it won't become any sort of issue.

Just curious, is the final score of the match going to be used as a tiebreaker at some point?

If needed yes. Your total win/loss record will be used as a tie break if needed.

Like if 2 people are at 7-5 for the season the tie would be decided by their game record.

how many aprox people make playoffs anyway

I was thinking top 12 with how many players we have for the playoffs.

And yeah the schedule is actually done. So everything is staying random.

If playofs are single elim. Does seed 1-4 get a bye? Just conjecturing.

I have a question. Since the schedule is all done, will it be possible to play a match or two in advance (probably reporting the results by pming to you and revealing them during the actual week)? I mean, one can go to a vacation or anything.

idont want to if it can be avoided because that makes things a little more difficult on my end. That being said if someone knew they were going to be out of town or vacation....then im sure i could pm you the match or something to get it taken care of during your available week. I just dont want to make the habbit of doing it.

OK, after talking to a few people. i am extending the week so that you have until Sunday night to finish. So the schedules will be posted each Sunday evening/Monday morning. this way players can send out the communicatons and haver the weekend to connect if need be.

I've been having trouble getting in contact with ratxt1. I sent him a message on monday, but I haven't seen him on at all recently/he hasn't responded. If neone is able to contact him let him know to contact me please. :)

I haven't heard of Bob199 yet. It'll probably be in the weekends when we do our match. But I don't know the precise time, which is something we're still debating.

I've contacted ratxt1 and here's what he said (no idea why hadn't he written it here himself)
